Where's my keys?

For years now Dan has had a problem with his keys. He'd put them somewhere in the open where he could find them and (before we were married it was his mom) and then me, something would be put on top of them, like groceries, towels, whatever and he wouldn't be able to find them. Then this morning he's getting ready to leave and says, "where's my keys? I put them on the table last night with my wallet and phone and they're not there." "I didn't touch them." During this conversation, Megan decides to go upstairs. "I was the last one home and I know I put them there." "The table was cleared last night and I didn't move anything this morning for breakfast. Megan has started to hide keys. MEGAN!!!!!!" Dan's look that he doesn't believe me and still thinks it's my fault. Me yelling, "MEGAN!!!!! Come down here! Do you know where Dad's keys are." As she comes downstairs, she with a mischevious smile she says, "They're under the couch" and runs to get them, then runs back upstairs. Dan just starts to laugh as do I. "I never thought I'd have to worry about my child hiding my keys." Dan walks into the family room. "Where's my shoes? I know I left them right here." "MEGAN!!!!!"

(The little imp struck again)

I can't stop laughing! That is so cute! I guess she doesn't want Dan to leave!

I'm gonna start trying that with Steve. "Sorry honey, I don't know where your keys OR my keys are!"

Think it will work?

At least it isn't a dog that is eating the keys. Think of how gross it would be to wait for the keys to come back out of the dog! (Shudder!!!!) Hopefully, she'll grow out of this phase!
