and this is one reason we live in Utah

Nytis' only time sledding

The kids loved sledding. As soon as you'd get to the bottom with Jonah he'd get up and immediately want to go back up the hill and as soon as you got to the top he'd want to slid down again. He would have a huge smile on his face while sledding and then get mad at you if you didn't immediately go again. It was nice that both Catherine and Megan could go by themselves.

Sleeping baby

Proof that at least of my children will sleep on his back like he's supposed to.

Cute Kids

This is last night when they were waiting to decorate our Christmas tree. I think they're adorable.

Tinkerbell & Princesses

My girls really wanted to meet the princesses so we stood in a long line for them. We saw Ariel.
Belle

Tinkerbell
And Silvermist. They were soooo excited.

A boy and his car

I don't think there's any words that will tell the story better then these pictures do.

Awesome Kids

Taking a 2 year old to Disneyland is just plain fun in my opinion. I heard someone comment, "why do we take them when they won't even remember?" They might not remember it but they sure do enjoy it. Taking Jonah on the Autopia alone was worth every penny. It was so fun to watch his excitment. During almost every ride he would sit with his hands clasped in his lap and a big smile on his face, mesmerized the whole time. So much fun.
The first day Megan was a little hestitant about a few rides, but as her and I walked on Space Mountain (without coercing) she told me, "I want to try everything so I know what it's like." What an awesome attitude for a 4 year old. And she loved everything. She has now become her daddy's Space Mountain buddy. Second to teacups in overall rides, it is her favorite ride. She went on all the fast rides and dark rides she was able to. In a few years she can try Indiana Jones.

I just love this picture of her because it's her real smile, not the one she forces for pictures. It was at a park near my parents house. Anyways, back to why Catherine was totally awesome at Disneyland. She walked the entire time, without any complaints. That's 4 days of walking around Disneyland. At one point her dad tried to pick her up and put her on his shoulders and she said, "No, I want to walk. It's good exercise." At the end of one of the nights I asked her if her feet her and she said, "yeah, a little" but she never brought it up and she never complained. She walked around the whole time smiling and excited to do the next thing.
Mainly the only complaining I got from anyone was from the girls when we weren't going on enough of the fast rides. For young kids, I think they're awesome.

Disneyland the First Day

As we are anxiously waiting for the park to open my kids are soooo excited. We're a little excited too.

Teacups with their cousins. My mom offered to watch Nytis one day so we only had the older kids and we brought some cousins a long to help out, which was really nice. They could ride with the kids and help entertain them.

I love his looks.

Dumbo. Unfortunately I don't have a shot without Megan's hand in her face because the sun was in our eyes.

While the big kids went on Splash Mountain, I took Jonah and Megan on the Winnie the Pooh ride. Megan was not sure yet that she wanted to go on Splash Mountain. She didn't want to get wet. By the end of the day she went on it and loved it.

Jungle Cruise.
Again, while Dan took the older ones on Space Mountain I took the little ones on the Omnibus and the Horsedrawn trolley. Megan wasn't sure at first about trying Space Mountain, but then her and I went on it later and it became her favorite fast ride, much to her dad's delight.
We bought the kids Mickey Mouse hats this year. A pink princess one for Catherine, of course.
A Lightening McQueen one for Jonah, of course.
And what else, but Tinkerbell for Megan.

Mommy and Catherine on Big Thunder Mountain. This is Catherine's favorite ride.
Megan was on it at the same time on the other side.
Waiting for Mommy and her cousin to get off Indiana Jones. This was the only ride the girls didn't go on because they weren't tall enough.
Crashed finally.
I finally got my driver's license. Yeah!!!!!!!
Oh, Jonah was soooo excited about the Autopia. Through the whole line he kept saying "Cars! Cars!" And he was so excited to steer the car with his Dan. It was like watching a kid at Christmas morning getting everything he ever wanted. It was so much fun.
Megan loved driving too.
It's not easy taking pictures from the car ahead.
We ended that night with the Astro Blasters.

Total: about 32 different rides, plus some of them more than once during the week of Thanksgiving. I have a truely amazing husband to get us on so much.

So Megan

At Thanksgiving we tried to get a family picture with all of us (and there is a child missing off on the side). When we looked at them the next morning we noticed Megan had made this face during most of the good pictures. That's just so Megan.

Dinosaur lurking

So Jonah finally wanted to wear his costume. YEAH!!!!!! And he was sooooo cute in it. We took the kids to the local rec center for their Halloween night. He walked around and got candy and said "Thank You" and was totally adorable.

Root canal, really?

So my poor little Megan had some dental work to do. Ok, not just some, 6 cavities. Yes, she goes to the dentist every six months and yes, she brushes her teeth, but obviously not as much as we should. With this last pregnancy, I admit, we really slacked. At her age, we still brushed Catherine's teeth 95% of the time and let her only brush her own teeth a little. We let Megan brush her own teeth way too much and now she had to get them fixed. Because there were so many we opted to have it done at a surgical center where she'd be completely put out, which turned out to be a good thing, because one of those poor little teeth ended up having a root canal. So now she's only 4 and she's had a root canal and has a crown, which she doesn't like. I was in my 30's before my first root canal and I just now had my first crown and I have bad teeth. So now she says it feels weird and she can't eat normal. So, back to mom and dad doing all the brushing for the kids.
