Check off List of things to do

Right before we left for our big trip I found out I've been officially accepted to the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and I'm soooo excited. I recieved my official certificate and national number just a week ago. It's something I've been wanting and working (off and on) for about 14 years now. Yeah!!!! I can finally check it off my list of things to do.

So what exactly does being a member entail? The name makes me think of something along the lines of how southern communities reenact the Civil War... :)

I'm excited to keep up with you in the blogging world. We miss hanging out with you guys!

The DAR does lots of volunteer work, encouraging patriotism, genealogy and helping to take care of historic sites and documents (scan, document, index, etc). When my girls get older they will be eligible for scholarships for college.
